Thirteen Fighting Marmots tamed the South Fork of the American River last weekend.
"I felt like every single person had a great time, not only because of the weather but because of the motivation and positive attitudes of the kids," said Kristen Lew, one of three SBA faculty members to ride the Class 3 rapids of the South Fork with the students.
"'Team Red Car' was the best because it was a continuation of the community we had built already at orientation," she added.
"It's probably the best trip I've had with Sugar Bowl Academy," said Devin Gill. "The best boat was definitely the guys' boat."
"The rafting was great and the activities we did at night were fun, too," said Kelly Habibi. "Everyone had a really good time whether they were on a boat or off."
