Who's in the Burrow?

High Fives!

SBA student-athletes learned some of the fundamentals of backcountry ski safety at Monday's All School Meeting. The lesson came courtesy of Truckee's High Fives Foundation, a non-profit organization which helps injured athletes get back on their feet (click HERE to learn more). High Fives' presentation focused primarily on educating students about essential backcountry gear - including a beacon, probe, shovel, and whistle - but emphasized that much more education and practice with these tools was necessary before venturing into the backcountry. During the presentation, SBA student-athlete Louis Norris ('17) had the opportunity to experience deploying an avalanche airbag. Enjoy the video, and thank you to Roy Tuscany and High Fives Foundation for helping educate SBA about backcountry safety.
